Biography


I’m Gil Mercado, a U.S. Army veteran, IT professional, and public service professional with a passion for technology, problem-solving, and veteran advocacy. My background includes hands-on experience in IT support, cybersecurity, cloud computing, Linux administration, networking, and virtualization.

I currently serve as a congressional aide for Congressman Maxwell Alejandro Frost, supporting constituent services, community outreach, and veteran-focused initiatives. This role allows me to combine my military background, technical skills, and commitment to public service by helping connect people with resources and support.

My goal is to continue growing at the intersection of technology, government service, and veteran advocacy. I’m passionate about using my experience to solve problems, support communities, and build meaningful connections across the IT, cybersecurity, and public service fields.c

Technology evolves quickly, and so do my solutions. I take an iterative approach to my work, continuously refining configurations, security measures, and performance optimizations. Through ongoing testing and feedback, I ensure that every project meets best practices in cybersecurity, cloud computing, and IT infrastructure.

Network System Implementation

For this project, I designed and implemented a modernized network infrastructure for Marconi Law Firm, LLC in Orlando, Florida. The firm needed a secure, scalable, and efficient IT environment to support daily operations and future growth.

For this project, I implemented a secure WordPress website for Marconi Law Firm, LLC using a LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) on Ubuntu. The goal was to create a secure, scalable, and remotely accessible web solution while ensuring strong cybersecurity practices.
